An Ottoman shamshir, circa 1830 Curved single-edged wootz-Damascus blade with "Dm Kr Rn(?)" engraved on the back of the blade. Simple brass quillons. Fluted silver grip strap and riveted horn grip scales. Leather-covered wooden scabbard with smooth brass mountings. Length 96 cm.
