Spray rises in the light of the midnight sun as waves pound the rocks at Myrland in the Lofoten Islands, Norway

The small road to the tiny village of Myrland in the Lofoten islands runs right along the coast of the island. Waves were pounding on the rocks, sending spray high in the air in the light of the midnight sun. This picture was taken late in the evening from the road near the village. In this part of Norway, within the Arctic Circle, there is 24 hour daylight in June and July, so it literally was the midnight sun.
