Hoyer, West Virginia Adjutant Genersl, and other key West Virginia emergency officials tour areas that were damaged by severe winds on Friday night. Although the winds did not cause major destruction as a Tornado did earlier in the year, over 675,000 residents of the state with a population of million were without power with temperature topping 100 degrees. The primary focus was on getting generators to nursing homes and hospitals to ensure the elderly and sick were properly taken care of. The West Virginia National Guard is sending out liaison officer teams and health and wellness teams to determine the needs of the population.
