Ferapontov monastery was found by St Ferapont. The two-tented barbican church (left), the tent-like church of Saint Martinian (2nd left), the Cathedral of Nativity of the Virgin (2nd right) and the Annunciation church (right) are shown in this photo. All the interior walls of the Cathedral (right) are covered with frescoes by the great medieval Russian painter Dionisy (Dionisius the Wise). Ferapontov monastery have been inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List.
