Ugab River, Namibia. Coloured Landsat image of Namibia's Ugab River flowing through the Namib desert. This river is vital ecologically, but only actually flows above ground for a few days each year. It helps to sustain what little life exists in this area, which is one of the driest on earth. A mixture of infrared and visible light has been used in producing this image. Photographed in September 2002.
