Wood was elected Professorof Chemistry to fill the place made vacant by the resignation ofProf. Gerard Troost, and served the College in this capacity until1831, when he was transferred to the chair of Materia ]\Iedica andPharmacy, made vacant by the decease of Dr. P>enjamin Ellis.
