Astronaut Dale A. Gardner sleeping onboard the space shuttle Challenger. This space shuttle mission, STS-8, deployed the Insat-1B satellite for India and replaced a delayed NASA communications satellite. The mission launched on 30th August 1983 and finished on 5th September 1983. Photographed on 5th September 1983.
