Scrapping of the French cruiser Colbert. Aerial photograph of the cruiser Colbert (C611), formerly of the French navy, being moved by tug boats at the Port of Bordeaux at the time of its scrapping. This cruiser (180 metres long) was launched in 1956 and commissioned in 1959. The ship only briefly saw active service in the 1991 Gulf War before being decommissioned in 1991. From 1993 to 2007 it was a museum ship. It was then mothballed at Landevennec, and finally scrapped in 2016 at Bassens. Photographed on 6 June 2016.
