London Southend Airport, Essex, UK. 28th May, 2021. Passenger flights have recommenced from London Southend Airport after a break of nearly five months with the 06:35 departure to Alicante, Spain, which is on the UK's amber list. Following the closure of easyJet's base at Southend in summer 2020 and the cancellation of Ryanair's flights after the last service operated on 8th Jan this year the Essex airport has been devoid of passenger flights. Further flights to Spanish and Portuguese destinations are soon to follow
