Incontinence implant. Coloured frontal X-ray of the pelvic region of a 75-year-old male patient with a sacral nerve stimulator (SNS, white, lower centre and lower left) implanted in the groin following removal of the prostate gland for treatment of prostate cancer. SNS delivers an electrical impulse to stimulate the sacral nerve as a treatment for those with bladder control problems (incontinence). It is thought that the impulse from SNS facilitates communication between the brain and bladder, helping to relieve the symptoms of urinary retention or an over-active bladder. This patient
