Barbata. An unusual plant for the rockery, producing silvery, blue-bearded flowers on 6 to 9 inch stems during June and July. Carpatica (Carpathian Harebell). A pretty species growing in compact tufts, not exceeding 8 inches high; flowers clear blue; held erect on wiry stems. It begins blooming in June, continuing until October. As an edging for a hardy border or for the rockery it is unsurpassed. — Alba. A pure white form of the above. Garganica. Forms a low spreading tuft, covered in June with starry light blue flowers with white eyes. A gem for the rockery. Glomerata (Clustered Bellflower).
