Scarab of Hatnefer, New Kingdom, Dynasty 18, early, ca. 1492–1473 , From Egypt, Upper Egypt, Thebes, Sheikh Abd el-Qurna, Tomb of Hatnefer and Ramose (below TT 71), Mummy of Hatnefer, tied to left thumb, 1935–36, Glazed steatite, L. 2 cm (3/4 in.); W. cm (9/16 in.); H. cm (3/8 in.), Like Hatnefer's exquisite heart scarab, the small pieces of personal jewelry found on her mummy were beautifully crafted and indicate the richness of her burial. This scarab was found tied to her left thumb with a loop of 2-ply linen cord
