By Wilbur Hall The visiting minister for December2 was Rev. David Cowart from Beth-page Methodist Church in Kannapolis. Reverend Cowart chose his scrip-ture reading from the 2nd chapter,41—52 verses of the gospel accordingto St. Luke. He told us that from nowon until Christmas is considered theSeason of Advent or The Seasonof Preparation. We are preparingto celebrate once again the birth ofJesus. When we think of Jesus weseldom think of Him as a normal hu-man being who was sent to earth toshow us the right way of life. Weusually think of Him as someone whoassociated with priests and the upperclass and not with common peopleof the world. In Jesus growing up He increasedin wisdom, He increased in stature,and He increased in favor with Godand man. In the first recorded speak-ing incident of His life was in thesynagogue when Mary and Joseph hadleft Him behind. When asked why hetarried and He replied, I must beabout my Fathers business.
