TheDerby China Workswere begun by An-drew Blanche in 1750,but soon came intothe hands of WilliamDuesbury, who, in1763, sent forty - twoboxes to London, andsold the contents for£666 17s. 6d. Dues-bury purchased andcarried on the Chel-sea works from 1770-1773, gradually remov-ing the business to Derby. The Chelsea works were closed in 1784226.
