A German hunting sword(Plaute),circa 1760. Slightly curved blade,both sides etched over the entire length with scenes from the Old Testament story of Joseph. Crossguard and shell-guard bear rocaille decoration and remnants of silver plating. Finely carved horn grip with a lion head pommel. Top nut with a silver cap. Non-associated old leather scabbard with silver mountings. Chape damaged.
