A model 1798 sword for officers,of the Russian Cavalry(variant for chamber valets). Double-edged blade of flattened hexagonal cross-section. Both sides bear richly engraved,gilded(somewhat worn)vine decoration with the obverse bearing the maker's inscription,"Eisenhauer,Solingen",and the reverse,"Clemens Wrede." Gilded brass knucklebow hilt stamped with the maker's Cyrillic inscription "Schaaf & Sons" beneath a double eagle. Grip with copper wire winding.
