The North Cross. One of two, 8th Century High Crosses, in Ahenny, County Tipperary, some of the earliest examples of to be found in Ireland.


Close to Ahenny village is the early Christian foundation of Kilclispeen monastery and in the adjoining graveyard are two 8th Century, High Crosses. The Ahenny High Crosses are amongst the earliest examples of Celtic high crosses to be found in Ireland bearing a resemblance to their wooden predecessors, County Tipperary, is the North Cross.
