Detroit, Michigan USA - Volunteers plant 5,000 tulip poplar trees, part of Hantz Woodlands' plan to develop a 150-acre urban tree farm on vacant land. Detroit has lost nearly two-thirds of its population since 1950, leaving thousands of acres open for urban agriculture. Hantz cleared dozens of vacant or burned homes before the planting began.
