Looking up at the white stone front elevation of the former Burton store at 81-95 High Street, with shops including a greengrocers occupying units on the ground floor. The Burton store at 81-95 High Street was built in around 1937, after a previous building (the Elephant Hotel) was demolished in 1935. Foundation stones were laid at the site in 1937 by Arnold James Burton and Stanley Howard Burton.
