Army 1st Lt. Joshua Pitcher, a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, visits Craig Joint Theater Hospital here as his second deployment winds down. In 2012, during his first deployment, Pitcher was wounded by an explosion outside Kandahar, and doctors amputated his left leg below the knee. Pitcher received some of his initial medical treatment at Craig Joint Theater Hospital. He made a full recovery and redeployed in 2013 as a platoon leader.
