Pardon Ndhlovu of Zimbabwe, left, just off the shoulder of American Andrew Epperson within a cluster of elite runners negotiating a turn about eight miles into the 2018 Chicago Marathon course. Ndhlovu went on to finish 25th and Epperson 22nd overall on the day. The Chicago Marathon is one of the world's six major marathon events annually joining the Boston, London, Berlin Tokyo and New York races.
