Although the Phase 2 Northern Leg of HS2 has been cancelled by Rishi Sunak, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, and the West Midlands Mayor Andy Street, are expected to meet the Transport Secretary, Mark Harper, next week to discuss plans for a replacement for the cancelled HS2 leg between Birmingham and Manchester.
