Rochdale, Greater Manchester, UK. 29th July 2017. Pictured: EDL supporters march through Rochdale town centre. / Just seven days after Britain First supporters held a gathering in Rochdale, another far-right group, the English Defence League, hold a demonstration in the town. Up to a 70 EDL members marched through the streets to protest against alleged muslim grooming gangs in the area. Scores of police formed a barrier between the far-right supporters and a vocal anti-fascist group consisting of Unite Against Fascism, trades unions, and the muslim community. The march coincides with recent revelations that members of a Rochdale grooming gang are to receive legal aid to fight deportation after already receiving £1m to unsuccessfully defend their criminal charges.
