DECK LANDING TRAINING ON HMS RAJAH. 1944. - Fairey Barracuda losing tail wheel during the DLT, 30 July 1944. The aircraft struck the round down with its tail, broke off the wheel and could not land on. As the rudder was jammed it could fly only in circles, so the pilot ditched successfully and was rescued unhurt by a trawler. 3 days later the same pilot was injured when a plane crashed in the walkway, but he recovered to pass out in the next course
