Pinned broken elbow. X-ray of a patient's right elbow with plates and screws (black) inserted in the ulna bone to treat a posterior fracture-dislocation of the oleacranon. The olecranon is the bony protrusion formed by the proximal (upper) end of the ulna. The plate and screws hold the bone together as it heals. Above the ulna is the radius, the other lower arm bone. Part of the humerus (upper arm bone) is at upper left. For a series of X-rays and photographs of this injury, see C014/7724 to C014/7728.
