The photograph shows Lieutenant Jackson talking to civilian M. Alfred of Montbrehain. Alfred was taken captive by the Germans in 1914 and was recaptured during the American drive at Montbrehain on October 8th, 1918. Major Reed and intelligence officers are questioning Alfred for information about his stay with the Templeaux, la Fosse, Aisne, France. The photograph was approved by the censor but the date of approval is not known.
