Brecon canal at Talybont on Usk, Powys, Wales, UK
Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal is considered by many to be Britain's most picturesque canal, and, for much of its length, lies within the National Park's boundaries. This landlocked canal runs for 35 miles (56km) from the old market town of Brecon to Five Locks, Cwmbran, following the scenic Usk Valley. The White Hart Inn is situated in the middle of the picturesque village of Talybont-on-Usk, Caerfanell Valley, which lies between the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains, straddling the Brecon and Monmouth Canal. The White Hart Inn is an ancient coaching Inn with large bar and beamed dining room, with a log fire for the winter months, and a gas coal effect burner to help keep out the winter blues.
