Volcanic ash aviation disruption. Airport departures board showing delayed and cancelled international flights at Brussels Airport, Zaventem, Belgium, due to disruption from a volcanic ash cloud. This followed a major eruption on 14 April 2010 under the Eyjafjallajokull glacier in Iceland, sending ash high into the atmosphere. The ash was blown south and east by the wind, leading to the airspace over many European countries being shut down due to the ash hazard to aircraft engines. Photographed on 16 April 2010.
