There is little to say about market conditions, other than that they are exceedingly dull. With shade tempera- tures of 90 degrees on several days, and excessive humidity, all life was knocked out of business. The present season sees more steamer trade than ever before in Boston's history. This added to funeral orders has given quite a little trade to the retailers. As yet the shipping trade to seashore and mountain resorts is light. There are many short-stemmed roses and these bring almost any "price, from 25 cents per hundred upwards. Some really nice Shawyer, Russell, Sunburst and Kil- larney Queen are coming in. Quite a few new crop Hadley are arriving. This promises to be the red rose par excel- lence next season here. Carnations are poor and difficult to move. Sweet peas have been in short supply some days, but they are now more abundant and of good quality. They are among the most popular flowers at present. Some Queen of the Market asters are arriving and sell at $1 to $2 per hundred. Valley Orders solicited for all parts of Connecticut. Hartford, Conn.
