All the in-mates effected their escape, though twoof them who were forced to jump fronithe second story windows, had been hurtby the shock. After the flames hadburnt themselves out. the firemen exploredthe building and to their surprise foundamong the ruins the body of the womanwho had aroused the other inmates andthus saved their lives. The body of thedog who had awakened her was lying byher side. She had evidendv returned to.
