Roots dark orange color, large medium length, taper- ing abruptly at the point; very uniform and handsome, sweet and tender. Packets, 2 for 5 cents; ounce, 10 cents; K pound, 25 cents; pound, 75 cents. Chanteney—This is a comparatively new stump rooted, but is considered among the best of this class. Tops medium size, small necks, color a rich deep orange red; flesh tender and crisp. A medium early sort; fine for both market and private gardener. Packets, 2 for 5 cents; ounce, 10 cents; % pound, 25 cents; pound, 75 cents. Improved Long Orange—This is an old stan- dard variety; is largely planted for general crop. Is largely grown for stock as well as a table variety, and is one of hardiest varieties grown. It is a heavy yielder. Better roots are produced in deep rich soil. Packets, 2 for 5 cents; ounce, 10 cents; % pound, 25 cents; pound, 75 cents. Early Scarlet Short Horn—This is one of the most popular of the early varieties. Color is a deep orange; of delicious flavor; will yield fine in shallow soil. It grows to a length of four or five inches. Packets, 2 for 5 cents; ounce, o cents; K pound, 25 cents; pound, 75 cents. Large WlMe Belgian—The great stock food of Europe. Enormously productive and nutritious; splendid keepers. Fed to milch cows increase the milk largely.
