Australian luminous Ghost fungus shot at night with star trails


Omphalotus nidiformis, or ghost fungus, is a gilled basidiomycete mushroom found in southern Australia most notable for its bioluminescent properties. Generally found growing on dead or dying trees, it is a saprotroph and parasite. This image is a 90 minute exposure to capture the glow from the mushroom, star trails and moonlight.
