The standard adopted for the canton-ment consisted of two or more units, each consisting ofa rectangular tank divided into four compartments inseries, each compartment with a pyramidal bottom. Eachcompartment is 23 feet 6 inches square and provides fora depth of 7 feet 9 inches from the water level to thetop of the hopper bottom, which bottom is 6 feet 6 inchesdeep at the center, the sides sloping one on two.
