President Society of American Florists. tlon should strive to secure enough members so they too may be repre- sented on the national board of di- rectors. This can be done and we can- not be too thoroughly organized. Let us maJte this a part of our 1919 plat- foim, ever remembering that we need you and you need us. The three representative branches of our trade, namely, the grower, whole- saler and retailer, I too want to invite to council with lis for promoting the interests of the trade at large. Mr. Grower, it is up to you to get better or- ganized. Growers should have branch organizations, to confer often in refer- ence to combating insects and dis- eases, the use of fertilizers, etc.; also the kind of stock to grow. In fact, we need more strictly growers' associa- tions. The wholesaler, too, needs to be more thoroughly organized locally to carry on his interests successfully, and to get into conference with the growers as to the varieties of stock to be grown. In a few cities co-operation of the wholesalers has shown excellent re- sults already. The retailer is no doubt the best or- ganized of the three branches since the splendid work of the Florists' Tele- Delivery Association has so no- bly helped to bind the retailers to- gether for our common good. May they continue to prosper, and the locally take more advantage still by becoming even more strongly organ- ized. The S. A. F. stands ready to help any branch of the trade to become more efficient. We have the means and the ability to assist you. Let us belp solve your problems and put flori- culture on the high plane where it be- Ini'^s. Ve are now entering an era of broth- P'lv love as never before shown in the histo-V of the world. Never did men's lir-rirt': go out to one another much .-iR nr•? .
