The White Hart symbol or badge of Richard II seen on the east facade of Hylton Castle Sunderland, North East England

Hylton Castle was built by Sir William Hylton as a gatehouse style fortified manor house. It dates to the 1390s or first decade of the 1400s. The chapel, also on the site, is dedicated to St Catherine and the ruins seen today date from the early 15th century, although there have been subsequent modifications.
