Cover of a UK petrol rationing coupon book issued in 1973. The oil crisis caused by the Arab Israeli Yom Kippur war in that year meant that OPEC (Organisation of Petroleum Producing Countries) restricted supplies to countries supporting Israel. In the end the coupons were not required - a vintage nineteen seventies item for editorial use only.
