An other worldly gothic scene at sunrise where a hierarchy with sun/universe dominating a retired smoke stack, which dominates the natural surrounds
An early morning shoot at Ross River, Townsville, Queensland, Australia. The retired smoke stack would dominate the surrounding hills and natural/residential world if it weren't for the rising sun, and hence a universal dominance within the hierarchy. The layered effect was achieved using a 200 mm lens with a 2X teleconverter on a DX nikon camera, resulting in an effective focal length of 640 mm. Several images have sunlight diffraction beams which give a splash of colour to an otherwise gothic scene
