Guardian Building, Detroit. Art Deco skyscraper, built in 1927 by the Union Trust, which merged with the National Bank of Commerce. The architect was Wirt C. Rowland. He designed what was later called the Cathedral of Money. Only the best materials were used. Here a section with multicolored, interlocking hexagons made of Rookwood ceramics and Pewabic tiles.
