These localities are represented by the corresponding numbers in Figure 1. Results and Discussion Shrews — Soricidae Shrews comprised of the small mammals collected (Table 1). The Smoky Shrew (^orex/uweu^) was the most abundant of the five species of soricids and was captured at 8 of 10 localities sampled. It was not taken at the two localities on Cape Breton Island.
