A French model 1822 sabre for pupils at the Ecole Spéciale de St. Cyr, dated 1825 Curved blade à la Montmorency. "DONNE PAR LE ROI" is etched in the fuller on the obverse side. There are various proofmarks on the ricassos, and the maker's inscription "Klingenthal" on the back of the blade. Gilt brass knuckle-bow hilt in relief. The guard is inscribed "Manceaux a Paris".
