This Rose Garden began in the 1920s when 15,000 rose bushes of 145 varieties were planted in Exposition Park in Los Angeles, California, USA. Today it is a beautiful and quiet oasis in the heart of that metropolis. The (3-hectare) garden attracts thousands of visitors each year and has been protected from urban development by being added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. The garden is open to the public without charge except when closed annually for maintenance from January 1st to March 15th.
