Titin-telethonin complex. Molecular model of the end of two titin protein molecules (blue and green) complexed with a telethonin protein (red) molecule. These proteins are found in the sarcomeres (the smallest contractile units) of striated muscle. This complex has been shown to be required for initial muscle growth. Titin is so named as it is the largest protein found so far in nature.
