In summer, Purple loosestrife and Water primrose in the Orx national nature reserve (Property of the French National Trust for seashore protection). The purple loosestrife forms clonal colonies flowering from June close to waterways, ponds. An another invasive aquatic species, the Water primrose has ability to quickly reproduce by fragmentation. Both compete and replace native grasses, sedges and other plants which normally provide a higher quality source of nutrition for wildlife.
