'For and in consideration of the sum of Four Hundred Dollars by David [Sayre?] to me in hand paid, I have sold to the said Sayre, a negro boy, named Johnm aged about sixteen years, which boy I warrant to be a slave for life, sound and healthy, and hereby warrant the title to the said Sayre, against the claim of all and every person or persons whatever.
