A holiday hire narrow boat has sunk in a lock on the Leeds and Liverpool canal near Greenberfield, Lancashire England UK
A holiday hire narrow boat lies at a sickening angle in lock 43 on the Leeds and Liverpool at Greenberfield. The accident took place on Tuesday the when the lock was being emptied of water as the boat was travelling down hill. The stern of the vessel had caught on the cill of the lock and the bow of the boat was thus under water and then flooded. All the crew, holiday makers got off the boat ok and though shocked hadn't sustained any significant injuries. The boat was refloated later in the day.
