Accordingly on June 14 theChairman of the Executive Council called a meeting forJune 29 at 10:10 a. at the Park Avenue Hotel. OnJune 20 the subcommittee sent out its second circularletter reminding all members of the importance of theaction to be taken at the meeting of June 29, andsoliciting suggestions from those unabe to attend,specially suggestions as to the committee on which any. FRANKLIN MacVEAGH, Chairman member would prefer to serve. To this letter not farfrom fifty replies were received and the suggestionstherein were carefully noted and tabulated. Dr. Chamberlain next read the concrete results ofthe sub-committees labors. The committees providedfor in the report are as follows: Committee on Basal Statistics of Immigration.—While no hard and fast limits can be prescribed for theprovince of this Committee, it is desired that its veri-fied and rightly tabulated statements shall certainly in-clude those statistical facts which are most importantin themselves and most significant as basis of this Committee succeeds in doing its main workpromptly, it may be able to supply to other Committeessuch information as will greatly aid them. Committee on the Facts of Supply and Demand.—Itis suggested that this Committee set itself primarily toshowing the actual relation of immigration to thecountrys needs, not on
