Colorful kayak boats on a sandy beach in La Tranche-sur-Mer, Vendee, France. Atlantic coast. La Tranche-sur-Mer faces south towards the Ile de Re and has one of the most favorable climates in the Vendée with 8 kilometres of fine sandy beaches. It is one of the Vendée’s most popular resorts. The white painted houses and Narrow streets give the town a Mediterranean atmosphere. For most of the year it is a sleepy quiet resort, but in July and August the streets and beaches burst into life with holiday makers.
