Tree frog (Ranitomeya ventrimaculata) on a leaf. This is a bromeliad-breeding species, being commonly found in understory bromeliads of the genus Guzmania. It is a species of poison dart frog, a group of frogs that are brightly-coloured, warning predators that they are toxic, though actual toxicity various between species. This frog is found in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Guyana, French Guiana, and Suriname. Like other frogs, it uses its sticky tongue to catch flies and other insects.
