Wastian's Half Long-Blood.—A very highly appreciated variety wherever grown; it follows the Early Red Turnip Beet, is of a half-long shape, and of a very dark blood-red color; it is an excel- lent variety for Winter use. Per oz., 10 rf*cts.; X lb., 20 cts.; lb., 50 cts. iLoilg Blood grows from twelve to four- teen inches long, and from three to five inches thick; it is very productive, but not of such good flavor as the Red Turnip. Buist's Improved Long- Blood.—We selected this variety, a few years since, from Henderson's Pineapple, a celebrated English sort, and by care we have pro- duced the finest and smoothest variety known. The foliage is of a beautiful crim- son color, and the flesh dark blood. We consider it a very valuable variety. Per oz., 15 cts.; % lb., 30 cts.; lb., $ or Swiss-Chard.—This variety is cultivated entirely for its leaf stalks, which are prepared similar to Asparagus and its leaves used as Spinach.
