The haunting 2000 year old half buried or half excavated terracotta figures in one of the pits of the tumulus of Emperor Jingdi the figures whose faces are uniquely created by artists represented the entire statal apparatus that the emperor would take with him to the continue his reign in the afterlife Ten pits are now open to visitors at the Han Yang Ling Museum and the pits in the glass enclosure allow visitors to see the relics in the place where they were originally discovered and while archeological excavation is ongoing
